2024 Chengdu Auto Show: BYD's New MPV - "Xia"
On August 30th, the 2024 Chengdu Auto Show officially kicked off. Among the highlights of this year's show is BYD's brand-new flagship MPV, the "Xia," with an expected starting price of $40,000. The vehicle is scheduled to be officially launched later this year.

In terms of appearance, the BYD Xia features the "Dragon Face" design language of the Dynasty series. The "Dragon Whiskers" trim utilizes a 3D structure with a combination of sprayed paint and a semi-transparent black finish, creating a strong sense of depth. The grille is designed in the style of dragon-scale armor, giving it a powerful and imposing look.

The BYD Xia measures 5145mm in length, 1970mm in width, and 1805mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3045mm. It also features hidden sliding rails for an enhanced aesthetic. The most striking feature of the rear is the taillights, which retain the traditional Chinese knot design and utilize laser engraving technology for a three-dimensional display.

Built on BYD's next-generation plug-in hybrid vehicle platform, the BYD Xia uses a dedicated hybrid vehicle body structure and is equipped with the Yun-Nian-C intelligent damping body control system. Additionally, the vehicle includes the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system and the DiLink 150 smart cockpit, along with a high-performance chip. Finally, the car is powered by the fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid technology. We will continue to follow and report more information about this new vehicle.
