On October 29, Lei Jun, founder and chairman of Xiaomi, announced that the prototype of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra completed its first lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with an official certified lap time of 6 minutes 46.874 seconds!
Lei Jun had previously stated his goal to create the fastest four-door electric car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife within ten years, but the target was achieved in less than a year.
According to TOPEV, the lap time of 6 minutes 46.874 seconds ranks sixth overall in its category. The prototypes currently ahead of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra include:
- October 28, 2022: Mercedes-AMG One - 6:30.705
- June 14, 2021: Porsche 911 GT2 RS Manthey Performance Kit (991.2) - 6:38.835
- November 4, 2020: Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series - 6:43.616
- October 5, 2022: Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992.1) - 6:44.848
- July 26, 2018: Lamborghini Aventador SVJ LP770-4 - 6:44.97

It is worth mentioning that Lei Jun revealed there was no rain at the Nürburgring yesterday, but the track was not completely dry. About 20% of the Nürburgring was wet during the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype's lap. Lei Jun stated, "We will try again next year!" This indicates that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype still has room for improvement.
