China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: In August, the export of complete vehicles increased by nearly 40% year-on-year; the export of auto parts increased by 6.6% year-on-year
Based on the data of the General Administration of Customs, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers sorted out the import and export of auto parts products from January to August this year.
In terms of imports, data showed that from January to August 2024, the import value of auto parts products was US$19.96 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5%. In August 2024, the import value of auto parts products reached US$2.7 billion, showing a slight increase both month-on-month and year-on-year: a month-on-month increase of 2%; a year-on-year increase of 9.4%.

In terms of exports, data showed that from January to August 2024, the export value of auto parts products reached US$69.77 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%. In August 2024, the export value of auto parts products reached US$9.13 billion, a month-on-month increase of 1.4% and a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.
In addition, in terms of vehicle imports, according to the data of the General Administration of Customs compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in August 2024, 76,000 vehicles were imported, an increase of 8.2% month-on-month and 1.6% year-on-year; the import value was US$4.27 billion, a decrease of 1.6% month-on-month and 0.9% year-on-year.
From January to August 2024, 478,000 vehicles were imported, a decrease of 1.8% year-on-year; the import value was US$27.24 billion, a decrease of 8.1% year-on-year.
In terms of vehicle imports, according to the data of the General Administration of Customs compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in August 2024, 610,000 vehicles were exported, an increase of 10.4% month-on-month and 39.5% year-on-year, and the export value reached US$10.92 billion, an increase of 9.4% month-on-month and 32.7% year-on-year.
From January to August 2024, 4.094 million vehicles were exported, an increase of 27.3% year-on-year; the export value reached US$76.08 billion, an increase of 19.9% year-on-year.
