The front design of the Haval H9 4WD Extreme Version has undergone significant changes. The central grille is now rectangular, adorned with four thick horizontal chrome strips. The middle section of the strips is hollowed out, and the second strip incorporates the "HAVAL" letter logo, giving it a wider appearance. The strips around the headlights are square, while the headlights themselves are round, embodying the "square outside, round inside" design philosophy. Below, the front bumper protrudes outward and features an H-shaped protective plate, which not only enhances the front end's bold appearance but also provides better protection.

The side of the Haval H9 features numerous straight lines, giving the body a more rugged look. The surfaces are simple, with minimal bulges. The large, battlement-like wheel arches and the hard-edged design complement each other, creating a harmonious and cohesive aesthetic.

At the rear, the Haval H9 continues its straight-line design. The taillights are arranged vertically, and the rear bumper protrudes backward. The license plate frame is located on the left side of the rear bumper, so the plate is not centered when installed. The tailgate features a handle on the left side, allowing it to open from left to right. The right side of the tailgate has an external spare tire, but it lacks a cover. Additionally, the rear bumper does not have an integrated exhaust pipe; instead, the exhaust is hidden under the vehicle.

The interior of the 2024 Haval H9 has also been redesigned. Both the large central control screen and the LCD instrument panel are suspended. The air-conditioning vents feature a zigzag design, and the electronic gear lever, while not exactly similar to the Tank 300, is strikingly similar. Several physical buttons and knobs remain around the gear lever, and the vehicle is also equipped with a wireless charging panel. A thick, horizontal and vertical grip is provided in front of the co-pilot seat, emphasizing the vehicle's rugged nature.

In terms of power, the new GWM Haval H9 offers a 2.0T gasoline engine and a 2.4T diesel engine. The 2.0T engine delivers a maximum power output of 165 kW and is paired with an 8AT transmission. The 2.4T engine generates 137 kW of power and is coupled with a 9AT transmission. The vehicle also offers an advanced four-wheel-drive system, along with three differential locks (front, middle, and rear), and the second-generation all-terrain control system, which significantly improves its off-road capability.
