Recently, the latest MIIT catalog revealed application information for the BYD Sealion 05 EV. Positioned as a compact SUV, this pure electric version adopts a new design language, creating two distinct styles when compared to the BYD Sealion 05 DM-i.


In terms of appearance, the BYD Sealion 05 EV features the Ocean Network design language. The front is characterized by through-type headlights and a dynamic lower front surround, with trapezoidal air outlets on both sides. The vehicle's dimensions are 4520 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1630 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2720 mm. In comparison, the BYD Sealion 05 DM-i measures 4710 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, 1720 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2712 mm. At the rear, the new car features wave-like through-type taillights and a roof spoiler, contributing to a more youthful and fashionable look.

In terms of performance, the BYD Sealion 05 EV is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor (model TZ200XSAY) that delivers a maximum power of 140 kW. It is paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack and has a top speed of 180 km/h. Additionally, the vehicle will offer various optional features, including fender trims, wheels, black decorative strips, configurations without a skylight or luggage rack, high-mounted brake lights with cameras, rear side privacy glass, and tail logos.
