Many Tesla customers reserved the Cybertruck immediately after it was officially unveiled, but they had to wait years for delivery. The experience of one customer, Oliver Alare, is particularly noteworthy. When he went to pick up his truck, he was informed that it had a serious malfunction during transportation. Despite this, he decided to go through with the purchase. Now, he wonders if he made the right decision.

Oliver shared his experience in the Cybertruck Owners Only Facebook group: "I was supposed to pick up the truck at 4 a.m. this morning, but they had to postpone it until Monday due to a 'power conversion system failure.' Knowing there's an issue with the truck doesn't sound good..."

In the comments, others reported similar issues, with some sharing photos showing reduced power, limited turning radius, and detection of a low-voltage electrical system. Some customers also reported catastrophic failures just days after receiving their Cybertrucks, with a few even having to replace the vehicle after multiple unsuccessful repairs by Tesla.

Oliver did not specify which version of the Cybertruck he bought. A few days later, he updated the group, sharing that he hadn't encountered any issues but felt that the truck was "too slow." He later discovered it was in Chill mode, and after switching to Sport mode, the performance issues disappeared.

Despite this, Oliver is still unsure if accepting a truck with a pre-delivery malfunction was the best decision. It's unclear if Tesla offered him a discount as compensation for the inconvenience.

Currently, due to decreased demand, the Cybertruck's wait time has dropped to under a month. For Oliver, it's essential to keep detailed records of all interactions with Tesla (including emails, chats, and phone calls) and to document that he identified the issue before delivery. These records could be crucial if problems arise in the future.
