Exterior
As a mid-cycle facelift, the Buick Electra E5 dimensions remain unchanged at 4892mm × 1905mm × 1684mm with a 2954mm wheelbase, but the exterior design has undergone several optimizations. At the front, a closed grille replaces the previous trapezoidal faux intake grille. The central blackened intake on the bumper has been widened, aligning better with EV design trends. The side profile retains the hidden door handles and introduces new 18/19-inch alloy wheels. Silver trim accents have been added to the roof rails and window sills, enhancing the overall premium feel.

Interior & Space
The new Buick Electra E5 interior features a five-seat layout with eco-friendly materials, with 64% of the surfaces covered in leather. The dashboard continues to offer a 30-inch integrated curved 6K display while retaining physical climate control buttons. The seats use a wide-body ergonomic design with dual-density foam and are equipped with wide-body floating headrests. The rear floor is completely flat, offering 140mm of knee room and 1030mm of legroom, with the seatbacks reclining to 27°. There are over 30 storage compartments throughout the cabin. The trunk offers 502L of cargo space, expandable up to 1658L.

Smart Technology
The vehicle is equipped with the eConnect intelligent cockpit system that supports continuous OTA upgrades. It runs the V5.0 vehicle OS, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, enabling seamless data flow between the vehicle and mobile devices. New features include Gaode Maps integration and a variety of smart driving scenarios. The AI large model delivers advanced inference, fast retrieval, and natural language interaction. Additional features include a 14-speaker Bose audio system and 5mm acoustic glass.

Performance & Range
In terms of power, the new Buick E5 EV continues with a single motor delivering a maximum output of 180kW (approximately 245Ps), achieving 0–100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. Two battery options are available: 63.9kWh and 76.8kWh, providing CLTC ranges of 515km and 620km, respectively. Energy consumption is as low as 13.4kWh/100km. The vehicle supports 3C high-rate fast charging, allowing a charge from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes, a 30% improvement in efficiency.

Chassis & Safety
The chassis has been tuned with a rear five-link independent suspension, featuring dual 6-joint ball heads and subframe dual hydraulic bushings. The VMC (Vehicle Motion Control) system further enhances the ride quality and chassis rigidity. The battery, co-developed by Buick and CATL, adopts a high-strength CTP integrated structure. It includes multiple safety layers: thermal propagation resistance, collision intrusion protection, multi-dimensional sealing, and high-voltage security systems. With upgraded self-learning algorithms, the battery retains over 85% of its effective capacity after 800,000 kilometers of CLTC cycle testing.

As a flagship in Buick's new energy strategy, the Electra E5 showcases the brand's R&D and innovation capabilities in electrification. Compared to competitors like the BYD Song PLUS EV, Volkswagen ID.4, Leapmotor C16, and XPeng G6, the new Buick E5 stands out with its upgraded product features and competitive edge in the EV market.
