The front of the new Leapmotor C16 continues to feature a closed-off family-style grille and a through-type LED light strip. The front bumper's side air vents and black trim add a sporty flair. On the side, the high-gloss black window trim, hidden electric door handles, and through-type taillights enhance the sleek and robust visual effect. The C16 dimensions measure 4915/1905/1770mm, with a wheelbase of 2825mm, positioning it as a mid-to-large-sized SUV and offering ample interior space.
Upgraded Interior with Overhead Screen and Onboard Refrigerator
For the Leapmotor C16 interior, the center console continues with a 14.6-inch 2.5K floating touchscreen, now upgraded to the Leap 4.0 Plus infotainment system, which adds 3D car models and enhanced voice command functions.
An 8.1L onboard refrigerator is integrated into the central armrest, while the front passenger dash includes a 50W wireless charger and cup holders. The vehicle also supports a wide App ecosystem, meeting both daily and long-distance driving needs.
All-New 5-Seater Version, Premium Rear Cabin Features
The biggest highlight of this update is the 5-seat configuration, offering significantly enhanced rear-row comfort. The rear seats support electric adjustment and 140° reclining, and come standard with 21-speaker PSS audio, 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos, one-touch bed mode, and rear-seat cinema mode. Other premium features include a 15.6-inch overhead entertainment screen, independent rear air conditioning, rear center armrest and tray table, and 10-point massage for both front and rear seats, making the rear cabin experience a new benchmark for SUVs.
Standardized LiDAR Across All Trims, Advanced Driver Assistance Fully Upgraded
Intelligent driving is a core competitive strength of the C16. It comes standard with LiDAR across all variants, supported by 28 sensors and the Qualcomm 8650 chip, enabling L2+ level driver assistance functions, including full-scenario NAP (Navigation Assisted Pilot) and NAC (Navigation Assisted Cruise). Features like automatic lane changes, compliant overtaking, and smart follow-driving are also supported.
Compared to rivals, where Li Auto L6 requires optional LiDAR and AITO M7 only offers it in top trims, the C16 stands out by making LiDAR standard even on entry-level models-a true "segment disruptor" that greatly lowers the barrier to access high-level driver assistance.
Dual Power Systems, Remarkable Range Improvements
The new model delivers outstanding range performance. The Leapmotor C16 electric car is equipped with a 220kW motor and an 81.9kWh battery, offering a 630km CLTC range, a 50km improvement over the 2024 Leapmotor C16. The Leapmotor C16 range-extended version features a 38.7kWh battery, delivering 280km CLTC pure electric range and 1150km total range, an 80km increase from its 2024 C16 SUV.
All trims come standard with front and rear FSD variable damping shock absorbers, combined with LMC blowout stability control, ensuring more stable handling on bumpy roads and during emergency maneuvers.
Competitors and Market Performance
In the $24,000 mid-to-large-size NEV SUV segment, the C16's main competitors include EXEED Sterra ET ($24,200), Dongfeng eπ008 ($25,000) and GAC Trumpchi E9 Max S7 ($24,600). With its standard LiDAR, luxurious 5-seater rear configuration, and extended range, the C16 demonstrates exceptional market competitiveness.
