All-Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Power: Wuling Starlight S Launches on the 28th
According to the latest news, the Wuling Starlight S will officially launch at 19:30 on the evening of August 28th, Beijing time in China. The car is a new compact SUV under Wuling Hongguang, and it is the first SUV model to feature both pure electric and plug-in hybrid power options. The new vehicle is built on the Tianyu Architecture D platform, with a pre-sale price range of 144,000 to 187,000 yuan. Based on previous trends, the official launch price is expected to be slightly lower than the pre-sale price.
The Wuling Starlight S has body dimensions of 4745×1890×1680mm, with a wheelbase of 2800mm. The exterior adopts the Star Wing aesthetic design concept and is available in four colors: Star White, Interstellar Blue, Star Gray, and Star Gold. The front of the hood is slightly recessed, giving the vehicle a sporty appearance. The split headlights on both sides are complemented by an upper LED light strip designed in a style reminiscent of traditional Chinese calligraphy. The rear of the vehicle features a narrow, elongated light cluster, providing a full and rounded visual effect.



The interior of the Wuling Starlight S is rich in layers, with three color options: light sand, black, and coconut brown. The steering wheel features a double-spoke flat-bottom design. All models come standard with a 15.6-inch central control screen and an 8.8-inch instrument cluster. The vehicle is equipped with the Ling OS intelligent system, supporting car networking, OTA upgrades, voice recognition, and remote control via a mobile app.


The seats in the Wuling Starlight S are leather-wrapped, and all models come with electrically adjustable driver's seats, offering six-way adjustment. The vehicle has a seating capacity of five people, with a fold-down armrest in the middle of the rear seat. Front seats offer heating and ventilation, while rear seat heating is available as an optional feature.

In terms of power, the Wuling Starlight S offers two powertrain options: pure electric and plug-in hybrid. The pure electric version is equipped with a single motor delivering a maximum power of 150 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 310 Nm, paired with a 60 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 510 kilometers. The vehicle supports 2C fast charging, with the ability to add 200 km of range in just 15 minutes. The plug-in hybrid version adds a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 78 kilowatts. The battery capacity options are 9.5 kWh and 20.5 kWh, offering a pure electric range of 60 km and 130 km respectively, with a total range exceeding 1,000 kilometers.
