The BYD Sealion 06 series has officially launched, offering three EV models and three DM-i models, priced from 139,800 to 163,800 yuan (USD 19,600 – 22,900). The DM-i versions are equipped with BYD's fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, while the EV versions are built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo. All models in the series come standard with the DiPilot "God's Eye" driver assistance system and the Cloud Chassis-C suspension system.

The EV and DM-i versions of the Sealion 06 share the same exterior design, following BYD's Ocean Aesthetics design philosophy. The most distinctive feature of the front end is the split headlight design, which differentiates it from the other two models in the Sealion family. The lower front bumper features a dual-layer air intake design, adding depth and visual layering to the front fascia.

The side profile is smooth and rounded, without pronounced shoulder lines, instead using silver trim on the lower side skirts for decoration. The wheel arches are accented with rounded contour lines, making the vehicle appear longer. In terms of dimensions, the BYD Sealion 06 measures 4,810 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. Compared with similar-class models, its length exceeds that of the Tesla Model Y and the XPeng G7, though its wheelbase is slightly shorter than both.

The rear design is clean and simple, featuring through-type taillights with wave-shaped curves - a signature styling element of BYD's Ocean Network family. The only visual differences between the EV and DM-i versions are in the rear badging, with both also displaying the "God's Eye" emblem.

Inside, the Sealion 06 continues the clean and minimalistic style of the Ocean series, featuring smooth, flowing lines. The dashboard has a tiered layout, equipped with a floating LCD instrument cluster and a large central touchscreen, complemented by a four-spoke "flying fish" bionic steering wheel and a column-mounted gear selector, creating a high-tech cabin atmosphere. The central console retains commonly used physical controls such as the wireless charging pad and the start button for improved usability.

Behind the center armrest, there is a temperature-adjustable cooler/warmer box that can hold four standard beverage bottles, enhancing practicality. The interior color scheme is predominantly white, with seats featuring an ocean ripple stitching pattern, paired with blue ambient lighting along the door panels.

In terms of powertrain, the Sealion 06 DM-i and EV versions are built with BYD's fifth-generation DM hybrid system and the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, respectively. The Sealion 06 EV rear-wheel-drive version offers 170 kW and 180 kW motor options, paired with 65.28 kWh and 78.72 kWh battery packs, delivering up to 605 km of range.

The Sealion 06 DM-i is equipped with a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout, featuring a 1.5 L gasoline engine with a maximum output of 74 kW, paired with an electric motor producing up to 160 kW. It comes with either an 18.3 kWh or 26.6 kWh battery pack, offering a pure electric range of 93 km and 130 km, respectively, under the WLTC cycle.
