TOPEV recently reported that CATL officially announced it will host the 2024 CATL Super Hybrid Battery Brand and New Product Launch Conference from 14:45 to 16:30 on October 24. The event poster features the slogan "A new experience of free driving, a new solution to ease anxiety, and a new brand that reshapes standards," suggesting that the company will unveil a series of innovative breakthroughs.
As of now, CATL has kept the specific product details under wraps, with no public announcements yet. However, looking back to August this year, Avita was the first to announce its use of CATL's Shenxing 4C super hybrid battery. They revealed two battery options: a 39kWh Shenxing super hybrid battery, with a peak charging rate of up to 3C, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. Under CLTC conditions, this battery offers a pure electric range of 245 kilometers and a total range of 1,152 kilometers. The second option is a 52.4kWh Shenxing 4C super hybrid battery, with an increased peak charging rate of 4C, making it a leader in extended-range battery technology. This version charges from 30% to 80% in only 10 minutes and provides a pure electric range of 325 kilometers and a total range of 1,220 kilometers under CLTC conditions.
Notably, recent data shows that global power battery installation capacity from January to July 2024 reached approximately 434.4 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 22.4%. CATL remains the global leader with an installed capacity of 163.3 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 29.8%, further strengthening its market dominance.
