Systems of an automobile
Underneath the structure of an automobile, there are many systems that make up the vehicle, which are interrelated and work in conjunction with each other to fulfill the various functions of the vehicle. Many of the larger systems can be categorized under smaller systems or components. Automobile systems can be divided into:
Power system: the power system is the core of the automobile, including the engine, battery (new energy vehicles), generator, starter motor, etc.. It is responsible for converting fuel or electricity into power to drive the car.
Transmission system: the transmission system transmits the power generated by the engine to the driving wheels, including the clutch, transmission, drive shaft, differential, etc.. It ensures that the car runs smoothly at different speeds and road conditions.
Suspension: The suspension system connects the wheels to the body, including springs, shock absorbers, stabilizer bars, etc. It relieves road shock and keeps the wheels in place. It relieves road impact, maintains good contact between the wheels and the ground, and improves driving stability and comfort.
Brake system: The brake system is responsible for controlling the deceleration and stopping of the car, including brake discs, brake drums, brake pads, brake master cylinders and so on. It ensures that the driver can effectively decelerate or stop the vehicle when needed by means of hydraulic braking and vacuum booster.
Eelectrical system：The electrical system provides power to the various electrical devices of the car, including the generator, batteries, lighting system, instrument panel, etc. It ensures that the various functions of the automobile are able to operate properly.
Electronic Control System: The electronic control system utilizes sensors, controllers and actuators to intelligently manage and control the various functions of the car. It includes electronic control unit (ECU), safety system, advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), in-vehicle infotainment system and so on. It improves the performance, safety and comfort of the automobile.
Body system: Body system includes frame, doors, windows, roof, seats, seat belts, etc. It protects the safety of occupants while providing a comfortable driving environment.
Environmental Protection and Energy Management System: Including emission control system, energy management system, etc., it mainly focuses on the impact of automobiles on the environment. It realizes the environmental protection goals of automobiles by reducing emission pollutants, improving fuel efficiency and range, and so on.
