The main function of car spark plugs is to introduce the pulsed high-voltage electricity generated by the ignition coil into the combustion chamber, using the electric spark produced by the electrodes to ignite the air-fuel mixture and complete the combustion process. This process is essential for the engine's normal operation. Without spark plugs, the car will not start.

What will happen if there is a problem with the spark plug?

1.The vehicle becomes difficult to start, leading to excessive carbon deposits and increased residue buildup.
2.The spark plug gap increases, reducing ignition energy.
3.Engine output power decreases, causing weak power and poor acceleration.
4.Engine may shake, and idle speed becomes unstable.
5.Fuel consumption increases, as the spark plug cannot effectively ignite the mixture, leading to incomplete combustion.
6.Engine overheating can occur, which shortens the engine's lifespan.

How to protect the spark plug?

1.Regularly check and replace spark plugs. Spark plug lifespan ranges from 10,000 to 30,000 kilometers.
2.Clean the air filter regularly to prevent dust from entering the combustion chamber with the air-fuel mixture.
3.Use the correct torque when removing and installing spark plugs to prevent dust from entering the cylinder.
4.Regularly check the coolant level to prevent spark plugs from overheating.
5.Inspect spark plugs regularly to monitor for wear and pay attention to unusual engine noises.

Important Tips: Failure to replace spark plugs over an extended period may lead to significant engine damage, such as electrode melting or insulator damage, which can even result in engine failure in severe cases.
