Exterior Design

Led by former Rolls-Royce design director Josef Kabaň and SAIC's global design team, the Jia Yue 07 features a bold, upright body, clean horizontal lines, a full-width LED light bar, and an illuminated brand emblem. The Jia Yue 07 is the first production vehicle to feature the Doubao cockpit assistant. A screen-based digital companion communicates through expressions, movements, and voice.

The cabin also features ambient lighting with 277 independently controlled LEDs and 256 colors, creating lighting effects synchronized with music.

Comfort equipment includes dual NASA-inspired zero-gravity front seats with massage, heating, ventilation, and adjustable leg and lumbar support. Rear passengers benefit from reclining seats, heating, ventilation, and folding tables.

The SUV offers 41 storage compartments and an 834-liter trunk, expandable to 915 liters with underfloor storage. Folding the rear seats creates a 2.3-meter-long sleeping area. Optional or trim-dependent equipment includes a 7.5-liter refrigerator with cooling, heating, and ice-making functions, a 2.5K overhead entertainment screen, and an immersive 7.1.4.2 surround-sound system with 18+2 speakers.

Intelligent Driving

The advanced driver-assistance system combines Momenta's R7 world model with the XHEART X7 dedicated AI chip. Hardware includes one LiDAR sensor, 11 exterior cameras, three interior cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and one millimeter-wave radar.

The system is designed to recognize complex traffic situations, anticipate potential hazards, and improve driving decisions in scenarios such as roundabouts, narrow roads, and mixed traffic. Parking assistance supports more than 300 parking scenarios, including tight spaces and remote parking functions. The system is rated at Level 2 driver assistance; it does not replace an attentive driver.

Powertrain and Chassis

All variants use a range-extended electric powertrain with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 72 kW (98 hp). The engine primarily generates electricity, while a rear-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor drives the wheels, delivering 162 kW (220 hp) and 350 N·m of torque. Top speed is 180 km/h, and the vehicle runs on 92-octane gasoline.

The chassis combines MacPherson front suspension with a five-link rear setup. An intelligent mCDC adaptive electromagnetic suspension with road-preview functionality adjusts damping to balance ride comfort and handling. Despite its size, the SUV has a turning radius of 5.47 meters.

Battery, Range and Charging

The Jia Yue 07 uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by CATL and Jiangsu Zenergy. Two battery capacities are available.

The 400V platform supports fast charging, while the range-extender engine provides additional flexibility for long-distance travel. The 32.6 kWh version has a claimed WLTC fuel consumption of 4.97 L/100 km with a depleted battery. Actual range, fuel consumption, and charging times depend on driving conditions and other factors.

Safety Features

The body uses a reinforced structure with high-strength steel accounting for 84% of the vehicle's body structure, according to the manufacturer.

Standard safety equipment includes ABS, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control, tire-pressure monitoring, and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.

Driver-assistance features include lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, driver-fatigue alerts, door-opening warnings, and front and rear collision warnings. Front airbags and front and rear head-protection curtain airbags are also provided. The battery system incorporates liquid cooling and preheating.
